Accessibility Statement
This accessibility statement applies to the Operator Licence website at www.operatorlicence.co.uk. It covers the public website, including information pages, contact routes and enquiry forms used by visitors looking for operator licence support. This website is operated by Operator Licence Ltd. It is an independent commercial website and is not part of GOV.UK or any traffic commissioner service.
Our approach to accessibility
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website with confidence. That means aiming for pages that are readable, predictable and usable across common devices, browsers and assistive technologies. We try to write in plain English, keep navigation consistent, and make core enquiry journeys clear on desktop, tablet and mobile.
We use recognised UK accessibility practice as our benchmark and work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard where practical. We also review live pages regularly so that accessibility improvements are built into day-to-day site maintenance rather than treated as a one-off exercise.
What you should be able to do
We want visitors to be able to:
- change colours, contrast and font settings using browser, device or accessibility toolbar controls
- zoom in without losing core content or navigation
- move through key pages and forms using a keyboard
- use the site on mobile and tablet without content becoming unnecessarily hard to read
- understand our main service pages without needing specialist knowledge of web accessibility terms
We have also added an accessibility toolbar to support visitors who want quick access to contrast, font and readability options.
How accessible this website currently is
This website is partially aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA. Most core pages are usable, and we have recently improved colour contrast, link labelling and mobile readability in a number of important areas. However, some parts of the website are still being refined.
For example, some pages may still contain heading structures that are not as consistent as they should be, some older design components may need further contrast adjustments, and some interactive or decorative elements may need clearer accessible names. We are working through these issues as part of an ongoing review of the live site.
Known limitations
Despite the improvements already made, some visitors may still encounter issues with certain combinations of browser, device and assistive technology. Older Elementor components, embedded assets or third-party features can sometimes affect the ideal accessibility experience. If a page, button, link or form does not work as expected, we want to know about it so we can investigate it quickly.
Feedback and contact information
If you find an accessibility problem on this website, need support using a page, or require information in a different format, please contact us. Include the web address of the page, a brief description of the issue, and if possible the device and browser you were using. This helps us identify the problem more quickly.
You can contact us by email at info@operatorlicence.co.uk or through our contact page. We will review requests and respond as reasonably and promptly as we can.
How we test and review accessibility
This statement is based on a combination of live automated checks and manual review of representative pages, including mobile layouts, navigation, forms and key user journeys. We use Lighthouse and other practical checks as part of our internal review process, and we also inspect the live rendered pages to confirm that improvements work in the real site rather than only in code.
This statement was updated on 8 May 2026 and reflects the current live website at that date. We review the statement whenever significant accessibility improvements are made, and we expect to keep refining the site as part of ongoing maintenance.
For the UK model structure commonly used when preparing accessibility statements, see the GOV.UK model accessibility statement guidance. We use that structure as a practical reference point, while making this statement specific to our own website and services.
